1st, 2nd and 3rd Flights: 16 Players, Net Match Play
THURSDAY, JUNE 4 – Championship Qualifying, 18-holes stroke play. Starting times: 7AM -10AM.
Lowest 32 gross scores will comprise the Championship Flight. Should there be a tie after 18-holes; a hole-by-hole playoff starting on hole 1 will decide the Championship Flight. Seeding for the Championship Flight will be determined by gross score of the qualifying round. Ties for seeding will be broken by card matching starting with the final nine holes, then the 18th hole going backwards. First Round Matches will begin Thurday afternoon for the Championship Flight. Seeding for all other flights will be determined by handicap index as of the June 1st revision date.
FRIDAY, JUNE 5 – First and Second round matches.
SATURDAY, JUNE 6 – Semi-Final and Final round matches.
SUNDAY, JUNE 9 – Championship Match.
A Match is won when one side leads by a number of holes greater than the number remaining to be played. (Rule 2-3)
In match play, if a doubt or dispute arises between players, a player may make a claim. If no duly authorized representative of the Committee is available within a reasonable time, the players must continue the match without delay. The Committee may consider a claim only if the player making the claim notifies his opponent (i) that he is making a claim, (ii) of the facts of the situation and (iii) that he wants a ruling. The claim must be made before any player in the match plays from the next teeing ground or, in the case of the last hole of the match, before all players in the match leave the putting green. (Rule 2-5)
All contestants should report early to their starting tee, as this will be considered the registration process.
Practice areas will open one hour prior to the first starting time each day of competition. Complementary range balls will be available on the practice range.
Players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge shall decide whether this requirement has been met, and has authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply.
Shorts may be worn but jeans or denim shorts are not allowed. The following items are forbidden: tank tops, cut-off shorts, jogging shorts, and gym shorts. Absolutely No Metal Spikes.
A player may carry his own bag, use a pull cart or provide his own caddie. Automotive transportation is permitted. You may pay for a cart prior to the competition, or after the start of the competition in the Paradise Valley Golf Shop.
It is the player's responsibility to be at the starting tee early. An official clock will be present on the first and tenth tees with unofficial clocks in all practice areas. (See Rule 6-3)
The WSGA will provide lunch for each player on Friday, June 5th and Saturday, June 6th. The club will be open for beverage service each day of the Championship. Cash and credit card purchases are accepted throughout the facility.
